A chimney pipe is the exterior pipe that connects to the interior
stove pipe of a prefab fireplace or wood-burning stove. The interior
pipe runs from the stove to the wall or ceiling.
The chimney pipe exterior picks up where the interior pipe left
off. This part of the pipe is used through the top of the wall
or ceiling and up to the top of the chimney.
Cleaning a chimney pipe for prefab fireplaces usually involves
a poly chimney brush recommended for metal flues because they
won’t scratch the walls. These brushes are very stiff though
and won’t be squeezing around any bends or irregular shapes.
